TANDEM TV SET-UP FOR SEPARATE TOGETHERNESS

It occurs to me that many of you married and living-together couples are
still kind of lonely.  I think maybe you're not spending enough time
together and not getting enough good contact.  You didn't pair up so that
you could be alone all the time did you?

Now, I know you have to go to work and when you get home you're tired. The
last thing you want to do is have a conversation.  You want to have dinner
and relax in front of the tube, right? OK, that's fine. But you don't have
to do it in separate rooms.

I know you don't like the same programs. Maybe one of you likes to read
while the other likes TV.  But you still don't have to be apart for all
those hours. Why not do it together?

   Here's a "high-tech" solution. Get your two TV's and put them side-by-side
in front of a nice roomy couch, big enough for both of you.  Then go out and
get two sets of headphones and all the appropriate transmitters, etc.  Now,
each of you can watch your own TV and still be close together, at least
physically.

I know this is just an expedient.  It might be better if you turned both
TV's off and went out dancing or even made love. But I figure you'd rather
watch TV because that's what people do.

Of course, I'm thinking mainly of those couple who don't have kids.  Those
who do probably ought to spend that time together with them. But after they
go to bed, if you want to stay up and watch more TV you could use my dual
headphones set-up to stay close while you mentally go off in separate
directions.
